Top Ten Bingo Songs

The great tradition of bingo has taught us that it is a social game, renowned for bringing people together as much as for giving out prizes. However, as increasing numbers of modern players prefer to relax at home with online bingo rather than making the arduous journey to the bingo hall, the industry has discovered that being able to listen to music during the game is one of the most prominent reasons for the decline in popularity of the traditional game, which requires the caller to be heard and therefore negating the possibility of playing music. Drawn from bingo chat rooms across the sector, here, in reverse order, are the top ten favourite songs to listen to while playing bingo.

10. Money, Money, Money (Abba, 1976)

Every bingo player is in it to win it, and the placing at number 10 of this Abba classic would seem to suggest that the end result is still a huge factor for playing.

9. Gold Digger (Kanye West, 2005)

Bingo is still a huge hit amongst women and Kanye’s inclusion is clearly a tongue-in-cheek nod from the ladies.

8. The Bingo Song (Ricky Tomlinson, 2007)

A surprise inclusion for Tomlinson with his bingo parody, which is clearly popular through You Tube hits.

7. Bingo (Alice Bertha Gomme, 1894)

An interesting inclusion is this children’s song, but it seems again more as a light-hearted play on the theme from voters.

6. Money For Nothing (Dire Straights, 1985)

An undoubted rock classic, Mark Knopfler’s catchy guitar riff clearly still grabs bingo players by the ears.

5. I Got Money Now (Pink, 2005)

The modern classics keep on coming with this hit from Pink, clearly a favourite for the ladies.

4. Bingo (Gucci Mane, 2010)

Peaking at number 75 in the US Top 100 in January 2010, the rap star’s homage to the bingo clan is clearly popular among the bingo community.

3. Bingo (Catch, 1997)

Reaching number 22 in the UK Singles Chart in the mid 90s it goes to show that bingo fans have long memories.

2. Eye of the Tiger (Survivor, 1982)

Made synonymous with fighting against the odds through Sylvester Stallone’s portrayal of Philadelphian underdog Rocky, the uplifting never-say-die theme clearly resonates with bingo lovers.

1. The One And Only (Chesney Hawkes, 1991)

Clearly proof that the general public is a law unto itself, Hawkes topped the list with his only chart hit. It just goes to show that you never can tell.
